Vendor Information
The Scandinavian Festival 2008 will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 19th and 20th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. We welcome both returning and new exhibitors – you are the heart of the show! This two-day event is expected to draw over 6,000 people. This year marks the beginning of a new Festival layout. In order to improve access and reduce impact to grounds, the vendor marketplace will be located next to Kingsmen Park on Memorial Parkway. The Food Court will be adjacent to Memorial Parkway in the Pavillion. The map identifies vendor booth numbers. Most vendor booths will be on pavement. Note that canopies cannot be staked in the ground. We are excited to see the new Festival in action and believe that the new layout will benefit all involved.
On the planning side, the program is quickly filling with a number of Scandinavian activities. We have confirmed participation from the Vikings and Sami, a number of dance and music groups, and speakers. In addition planning is well underway to build upon our successful opportunity drawing, children’s craft booths, Maypole dancing, soccer and Kubb activities. On the layout you will notice that we have newly designated space for Nimbus motorcycles and Volvo cars. Both of these enthusiast groups have been invited to participate.
We are now taking food, vendor, and other exhibitor booth reservations. We encourage you to take advantage of our first-come-first-served policy (with preference given to two-day participants).
Listed below are important points for you to review. Your contract, with additional details, is enclosed.
- The deadline to reserve a booth space is February 15, 2008. The committee considers logistics, electrical need, size and sales category when assigning booth space, so please mail back your reservation as soon as possible.
- Payment, including listed costs for electrical / power, must accompany your Exhibitor Agreement.
- Your request for space will be processed upon receipt of your payment and Exhibitor Agreement, and you will receive written confirmation of your space.
- Late applications will be accepted after February 15th, if there is space available, with an additional $75 charge. No reservations will be accepted after March 28, 2008.
- Please read your Exhibitor Agreement carefully. Note the new layout. Developed in partnership with CLU, this layout will reduce impact to campus grounds and improve access.
- Please consider donating an item for the Festival opportunity drawing – your contribution will be acknowledged.
- In the unlikely event that the Festival has to be cancelled due to inclement weather, or an act of God, there will not be a refund due to expenses already incurred (see Exhibitor Agreement for specifics).
- Make your check payable to: SCANDINAVIAN FESTIVAL, and mail it with your Exhibitor Agreement to: Scandinavian Center, California Lutheran University, 60 West Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360.
All of us associated with this great community celebration of the Nordic cultures look forward to seeing you at “Scandinavian Festival 2008”.
